Mastodon the 31st, and the song comes with a big surprise.
The band will release a new collection of rarities on September 11th, titled Medium Rarities , featuring instrumentals, live tracks, unreleased songs, and much more. The album will also include covers of songs by Metallica, Feist, The Flaming Lips , and the tracks the band recorded for the Game of Thrones .
Regarding the single “Fallen Torches,” the band said, “This classic Mastodon song was recorded in Atlanta in 2019, originally planned for release to accompany a European tour. The song was delayed so the band could focus on the release of 'Stairway to Nick John,' a tribute to the late Nick John , the band's longtime manager, with all proceeds going to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pacific Cancer Research in his honor.”
